Why is Solar Energy Important?

Why is Solar Energy Important To Your Family

With all the fuss about global warming and climate change, I’m sure you’ve asked yourself even just once, “why is solar energy important?” Solar energy is the use of the heat and light of the sun as a source of energy. It is renewable, sustainable and is one of the cleanest forms of energy. Even when not being used as a source of electricity, natural solar energy is also important. Without this, everything on earth would freeze and die away. It is also because of the sun’s heat that the earth’s plants are thriving and healthy, seeing as sunlight is necessary for the process of photosynthesis, which is where plants get their energy and nutrients from. Herbivores and omnivores also need the sun’s energy for the vitamin B and B-12 that it gives, which is used by the body for energy and several other processes. It can also be seen why is solar energy important even to sea creatures. The sun’s heat is responsible for the melting and freezing of the polar ice caps, which is then responsible for the fresh water and saltwater mix of our bodies of water. Solar energy is also important even on a psychological level. Our bodies respond to sunlight or dark weather, and it has been observed that people are generally happier and in a better mood when the sun is out.

Why is solar energy important?

Here are other reasons on why is solar energy important:

1. It can be used anywhere at any time. This is an advantage to third world or developing countries where the use of large commercial electrical wires are not very feasible. With the advent of cheaper and more powerful photo-voltaic technology, scientists are hopeful that solar energy will become a cheap solution to electrical shortages around the globe.
2. Another reason why is solar energy so important is the fact that it is absolutely 100% free. And there aren’t a lot of things in the world which we can confidently say that about. Once again, this is good news for poorer countries with an overpopulation problem. Seeing that solar energy has become the main source of energy for everyone, it would mean that even households with low to no income will be able to have electricity in their homes.
3. It does not harm the planet in any way whatsoever. Because solar energy is completely natural, there are no harmful emissions like those found in the more popularly used fossil fuels. It is clean, quiet and can be utilized virtually forever.

So, Why is Solar Energy Important?

After reading this, it is clear that there are certainly more advantages than disadvantages to solar energy. Although the initial cost to utilize solar energy is expensive, new technologies are being continually developed to remedy this. The initial projection is that solar energy will be more and more utilized in the coming years, until harmful fossil fuels will be a thing of that past. So the next time someone you know asks you “Why Is Solar Energy Important” you’ll know exactly how to answer them.
